全球化英語可省略傳統英語不需要的發音
全球化英語的發音必須按著詞彙來學習。最重要的是，全球化英語的音節必須有恰當的重音。因為大多數語言都已有類似的發音，學習全球化英語的時候只需要學少數幾個新發音。

使用全球化英語的人說話時會加上肢體動作、手勢和臉部表情
用全球化英語寫作時，會運用到標題、粗體、底線和有文字的圖片。開會時，說全球化英語的人會使用物品、圖片、聲音，或把東西交給聽眾。精通全球化英語的人說話非常清楚，也很樂意重複說過的話。在繼續講下去前，他們會確認聽眾是否全聽懂了。他們開會時會一再重複所有的問題以及答案（詳情請見第18 章）。

使用全球化英語的人開玩笑或使用慣用語和例子時，非常謹慎
使用全球化英語的人可以開玩笑，表現友善的態度。但他們會避免別人可能無法理解的東西。大多數人在跟父母、朋友說話時也會很小心，不會開不恰當的玩笑。有時候，某人覺得好笑的事，卻會有人覺得受到冒犯。想知道不同文化的人會有何反應甚至更難，所以最好不要表現得很「滑稽」。同樣地，來自某文化的舉例可能不適用於另一種文化，有些比擬的方法或許並無相同的含意。只有某種文化才能了解的慣用語也應該避免。
