This book caught my eyes at the very beginning while I took it on my hands it seemed difficult to put it down.Apparently we have to give the credit to the brilliant author Marc for a portion of this successful novel.Especially when the story is based on a true one, and everything has to described within a certain range:not too over but have to be splendid.
In real life Jim Braddock\’s legendary story has been regarded as a splendid one. But that is not the only reason why people adapt it for cinema. His life is a triumph inspired people a lot. We encounter with chance everyday but we lose it at the same time.Jim is a person who knows exactly what the significance of chance mean to him.
There is a quote from Oprah Winfrey I like: Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.I always keep the words in my mind and it is a good force to push me doing everything with the best of my ability.
I finished reading this novel in 5 nights since it\’s only a 60 pages short story, but definitely the story itself is a deep and wide thing. The narration is mainly around two ranch hands-Jack Twist and Ennis del Mar. One was a herder and another was a camp tender. They were sent to pasture the sheep up the Brockback Mountain, and some unexpected chemistry happened beween these two rough and stink cowboys. They both took it as a kind of sudden impluse and dicided to leave it behind the mountain. Four years passing and both got wivies and kids. They met again and realized the importance in each other\’s life. There began a twenty years affair and led them to the road of no return.
I have to say there are some intimate scenes make me speechless, and guessed most of readers would take this as a gay relation novel. But I think it is much more than that. It\’s talking about a precious love that rarely happened to most of the couples but to these guys! There is a scene impressed me. When Ennis put his face into Jack\’s and his own shirts, those sweet memories flowed through his mind. Everything was gone but no one could grab the happiness and love from him. That was the scene broke my heart.
\"If you can\’t fix it you\’ve got to stand it.\" Something in life seems odd and even couldn\’t make a change. But it is important to keep the least love and hope in heart, because that is the thing to make the world a better place.
