Part A: At an English Class
Ms. Harris is going over some vocabulary with her students.
哈里斯老師正在幫學生複習單字。
(Ms. Harris = M ; Paulette = P ; Stuart = S)
M: Does anyone have any questions about these words? Yes, Paulette.
P: How do you pronounce the first word?
S: Are you stupid or something? It’s “shike” like in “strike.”
M: That’s a rude thing to say, Stuart. You need to apologize to Paulette right now!
S: I’m sorry, Paulette. I didn’t mean to call you stupid.
P: Don’t worry about it.
M: Now, where were we? Oh yes, you say the word, S-H-E-I-K-H, like “shake.” They have different spellings but the same sound.
P: Thanks for clearing that up for me, Ms. Harris.
Part A:英文課
哈老師:大家對這些單字有任何問題嗎?波蕾特,請說。

L: This math is a bit hard for me, but I’ll try.
M: Here’s some chalk. Don’t forget to write big and clear so that everyone can see your work.
L: OK. First, I add these two numbers together. Then, I subtract that total from this other number.
M: Good. Your first two steps are correct, Linus. What’s next?
L: I’m not certain. This part confused me earlier.
M: Would you like me to show you again?
L: Yes, please.
Part B:數學課
奧托老師:萊納斯,請到黑板前面解答下一道數學題。
萊納斯:這題對我來說有點難,但我會試試看。
奧托老師:這裡有粉筆。別忘了字要寫得大又清楚,這樣大家才看得到你作答。
萊納斯:好,首先,把這兩個數字相加,接著,用另外這個數字減去剛才的總和。

Part C: At a PE Class
Mr. Travers is teaching dodgeball to his students.

(Mr. Travers = M ; Phoebe = P ; Adam = A)
M: Phoebe, you’re the captain of one team, and Adam, you’re the captain of the other.
P: Cool! Can I pick first?
A: I don’t mind. Be my guest.
M: We’ll do that in a minute. When we have our teams, Adam’s will stand on the right side of the court.
P: And mine will be on the left side.
M: That’s correct. When I blow my whistle, you all try to get the balls in the middle.
A: What happens if someone goes before the whistle?
M: Then we start over.
Part C:體育課
崔老師:菲比,妳當一隊的隊長;亞當,你當另一隊的隊長。
菲比:酷!我可以先挑隊員嗎?
亞當:我都可以,請便吧。
崔老師:我們等一下再做這件事。等挑好隊員,亞當這一隊站在球場的右側。
菲比:我這一隊就站在左側。
崔老師:沒錯。我鳴哨後,你們所有人都要衝到中間拿球。
亞當:如果有人在吹哨前就起跑怎麼辦?
