About the Author

Gayle Evans has a reputation among her students for her enthusiasm and passion for teaching about the environment. In the course of her career at Gainesville High School, in Gainesville, Florida, she has taught nearly every science course possible including AP(R) Environmental Science, AP(R) Biology, as well as Anatomy & Physiology and Physical Science.

Ms. Evans earned her B.A. in Biology from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and her M.Ed. in Secondary Science Education from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She is also National Board Certified in Biological Sciences.


Amy Fassler has been teaching Advanced Placement(R) Environmental Science at Marshfield High School for 14 years. Her passion for environmental science education has inspired countless students to pursue careers in the field of environmental science. She has been recognized by the Siemens Award Recipient for outstanding AP(R) Science education.

Ms. Fassler has a M.Ed in secondary science education from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and has been active in science education leadership throughout her 35 years in the classroom. She is a national board certified teacher serves as a college board consultant, sharing teaching strategies with fellow AP(R) Environmental science teachers from all over the country. Ms. Fassler is active in the AP(R) community, serving as an exam reader and a member of the test development committee.
