Prof. Hassan El-Banna Fath is a well-known expert in desalination and energy technologies. Prof. Fath got his B.Sc. & M.Sc. from Alexandria University (Egypt) and M. Eng. & Ph.D. from Mc Master University (Canada). Prof. Hassan El-Banna Fath has wide academic & Industrial Experience in Desalination & Energy Technologies.
His Academic experience was in different Middle East universities including;

- Professor of Practice, Masdar Institute (MI) of Science and Technology, UAE,
- Professor (and Distinguished Scientist); Alexandria University (AU), Egypt,

- Visiting Associate Professor; Univ. Of Technology (Iraq), Qatar Univ. (Qatar) and Arab Univ. of Beirut (Lebanon)
Prof. Fath supervised many M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and has established different desalination laboratories, e-learning institute, water & energy associations and centers. Prof. Fath has lead (as PI, Co-PI and consultant) many research, development and innovations (RDI) funded projects including megaprojects, for example, he was the leader of work package#12 of MATS project; Solar Power & Desalination project (Borg El-Arab, Egypt) for the design of solar driven 1.0 MW(e) power and 250 m3/day MED desalination Plant. Prof Fath published a Book in "Desalination Technology" (in Arabic Language), Co-author of Encyclopedia of Desalination & Water Reuse (DESWARE), Filed six patents and published over 200 papers/articles, in Desalination & Energy technologies.
His industrial experience includes;
- Senior Researcher and Leader of New Thermal Desalination processes in Doosan Heavy Industries, Water R&D Center, (Dubai - UAE),
- Senior Engineer and Head of Efficiency and statistics Dept., Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia,
- Head Engineering/Technical Training dept., Saudi Arabian Marketing and Refining Co. (SAMAREC) / Consolidated Electricity Company (SCECO-W), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,
- Process engineer, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), Ontario Hydro, Mississauga/Toronto, Ontario (Canada).
