Christine Gutierrez, M.A., LMHC, is a Latina licensed psychotherapist, life coach, and expert in love addiction, trauma, abuse, and self-esteem, currently residing in Puerto Rico with her husband, Fernando Samalot, and their pup, Bodhi. She has a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in human behavior and development and a master’s degree from the City College of New York in mental health counseling with a focus on community and prevention. She has been featured in Time Out New York, Latina magazine as "The Future 15: The Healer," Yahoo Health, Ebony, Cosmopolitan for Latinas, The Huffington Post, and elsewhere. She is featured as a guide on oneoeight.com and is a Dove Self-Esteem expert. Gutierrez also created the nonprofit Therapy Is Cool, founded in Puerto Rico, the mission of which is to empower marginalized youth and communities. Her mission is to hold space for people to untangle the webs of their pain, shame, and trauma and come back home to their true selves and soul.
