Dongming Feng, PhD, is Senior Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti. He has been both a researcher and a practitioner in the interdisciplinary areas of computer vision techniques and structural health monitoring for over the past ten years. His research has been focusing on development of computer vision-based displacement sensors and their application for structural health monitoring. He has successfully applied the computer vision technology to solve practical engineering problems. He has been recognized with various awards including the Outstanding Reviewer Award in 2016 and 2017 from American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Maria Feng, PhD, is Renwick Professor of Civil Engineering at Columbia University. Her research is at the forefront of multidisciplinary science and engineering within novel sensors, structural dynamics and health monitoring algorithms, nondestructive evaluation techniques, and smart materials/structures. Dr. Feng has made a number of original contributions through both academic research and engineering practice, receiving numerous awards and recognitions including the CAREER award from the National Science Foundation, the Collingwood Prize by ASCE, the Water L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize by ASCE, the Alfred Noble Prize awarded jointly by ASCE, ASME, IEEE, AIMMPE, and WSE. She is a Fellow of ASCE.
