Timothy Shenk is an assistant professor of history at George Washington University. He is the author of Maurice Dobb: Political Economist and a forthcoming history of the idea of the American economy. The coeditor of Dissent magazine, he has written for The New York Times, The Guardian, London Review of Books, The Nation, The New Republic, and Jacobin, among other publications. He has been a National Fellow at the New America Foundation and a Mellon postdoctoral fellow at Washington University. He lives in Washington, DC.
