A juicy writing bug bit Oksanna in grade four. Her teacher asked her to read her scary Hallowe’en story to the class. When Ohsanna finished reading, her classmates broke out in wild applause. That was it! She was going to be an author. But Life had other plans. After graduating from the University of Toronto in Linguistics, Oksanna move to Saskatchewan to begin an 8-year career in radio broadcasting. Then, she became a kindergarten and early literacy teacher for 25 years. After she retired, Oksanna returned to her first loves from high school - creative writing and art. She has co-written and illustrated the picture book, Pirate Glitterbeard, with her daughter, Larissa. Oksanna is of Ukrainian descent and speaks the language fluently.
Lydia Ramsey is a visual development artist and illustrator hailing from the picturesque Prince Edward Island, where she currently lives with her cat, Padme. Lydia channels the landscapes of her homeland into her whimsical, story-driven artwork. A 2023 graduate of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Animation program, she combines her passion for visual storytelling with a keen eye for detail, creating illustrations that invite viewers into enchanting worlds. When she’s not busy doodling, Lydia loves to immerse herself in fantasy literature and experiment in the kitchen.
