this book contains teenage language of course it might have some negative tone of sayings etc.
this doesn\’t mean this book is not appropriate.
it\’s better if you learn some slangs since not everyone speaks Japanese formally.
Initially bought the book beacuase it has MP3 which is a good idea so that I can learn Japanese when I am driving or doing something else.
After reading the book and listened to the recording, a lot of conversation have negative tones, sarcasm and criticism. For beginer learning Japanese, I don\’t think this book is appropriate, unless criticizing is main part of Japanese culture which I doubt that is the case. Most of the Japanese I met here in USA are actually very polite.
A better book, I think, should focus more on positive conversations which would work on most social settings. Appraise or complemnet always makes conversation much more pleasant.
