G: Very funny. No, it's about divorce and it says that most
divorces are caused by husbands having extra-marital affairs.

B: What do you mean by most?
 
甚麼叫做「多是」？
 
G: Well it reports on a survey carried out by divorce lawyers on the divorce cases they have handled over the past year.
 
嗯，這裡報道的是一個調查，由專辦離婚案件的律師舉辦，以他們過去一年處理的案件為根據。
 
B: I wouldn't necessarily believe anything lawyers say.
 
律師說甚麼，我未必就信甚麼。
 
G: Don't be cynical. The survey says that almost three quarters of divorces were the result of husbands having extra-marital affairs.
 
不要事事冷嘲。調查發現，夫婦離婚，幾乎有四分之三是因為丈夫有外遇。
 
(Oh) Very funny 當然是「十分有趣」的意思，不過，英國人愛說反話，常用這話來表示人家所言或所為並不有趣，例如：
 
"It's freezing cold today. Would you like to go for a swim?"
"Oh,very funny."
 
（「今天冷得厲害，你想不想去游泳？」「你真會開玩笑。」）
