為了取信於人，我們會告訴對方：「放心！」表示句句屬實。「放心」兩個字的美語是「Rest assured」。

A：Are you sure you'll be able to get it done by tomorrow?
　　你確定明天能完成？
B：Rest assured! Leave me alone to do it.
　　放心啦！包在我身上。
A：Okay. Everything counts on you!
　　好，全靠你了！

A：This is just between you and me.
　　這件事要保密。
B：Rest assured（that）I won't say a word about it.
　　放心，我一個字都不會說。
A：I know. Your word is your bond.
　　我知道你會說到做到。

A：You can rest assured（that）I'll finish it by tomorrow.
　　你放心，我明天之前會做好。
B：Take your time, I'm in no hurry.（= not in any hurry）
　　依你的時間，我不趕。

朋友向你問事情，而你不知道答案，要表達「我怎麼知道」，有句比較簡單又實用的口語，就是「Search me!」

A：What else did he say?
　　他還說了什麼？
B：Search me! （God knows / I don't know）
　　我怎麼知道！

A：So, what else is there to say?
　　還有什麼要說？
B：Search me! Your guess is as good as mine.
　　我怎麼知道！你問我，我問誰。
