孟德爾頌一生中最輝煌的歲月就是在萊比錫發展的時期。此次同樣來自萊比錫的德國著名唱片公司Querstand特別企劃了這套十張的"珍藏孟德爾頌"專輯，每一張錄音皆以非常用心的製作來完成，內容非常豐富且具有高度的收藏價值。其中包含了一些首次錄音的孟德爾頌罕見曲目，以及一些編制改編後的曲目。加上一些考究孟德爾頌時代的樂器所錄下的珍貴錄音。

另外值得一提的是，其中還有收錄許多當時與孟德爾頌齊名的音樂家的作品，並以此與孟德爾頌的作品相互比較，這其中包含許多音樂家動聽作品的世界首錄音，張張都非常珍貴，絕對得收藏的一套發行。

第七集: 木管曲目的創作對決
本集收錄浪漫時期三位對於創作木管曲目最為擅長的大師(孟德爾頌與Danzi和Baermann)的最經典曲目，三位作曲家的作品一起收錄在一張CD內，讓樂迷可以清楚的比較出三位名家的創作風格以及功力的高下。非常值得收藏的一張名盤。

Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Danzi, Baermann – these are the brilliant three regarding Romantic music for woodwind instruments. Mendelssohn composed his Sonata in E flat major at the age of 15. Like Franz Danzi’s Sonata in F major it shows the influence of the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Carl Maria von Weber. The works by the famous 19th-century clarinetists Heinrich und Carl Baermann also share this musical heritage. Mendelssohn highly valued the Baermanns, both father and son and the concertos op. 113 and op. 114 are dedicated to them. This CD presents the triad Mendelssohn-Danzi-Baermann in a new recording marked by virtuosity – that sound of “beguiling tones, tiny tones and teensy-weensy tones", as Mendelssohn once wrote to Heinrich Baermann, “that flow from wooden instruments, those airy and light, wise and soft, peaceful and pleasant, lively and moving, flowing and growing, hospitable and embracing tones that also sound so well."
Appearing in commemoration of the 200th birthday of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Virtuoses fur Holzblaser is the seventh CD in a large anthology released by the classical label querstand in cooperation with the Goethe and Schiller Archive in Weimar, the Mitteldeutschen Rundfunk and other partners. The anthology places the great legacy of this important composer into the musical and historical context of his times. Along with works by Mendelssohn – partly in rarely heard interpretations – the anthology includes numerous works by composers from Mendelssohn’s circle of friends and acquaintances. The musical spectrum ranges from the sound of the historical pianoforte and moving vocal pieces all the way to great symphonic works. With its large number of debut recordings, the listener will have the opportunity to make an entire series of discoveries and rediscoveries. The anthology also includes two audio books presenting a musical and literary reading of Mendelssohn’s letters by Durs Grunbein and an episodic biography by Michael Schulte.
