Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (La Plata, 1953) fue presidenta de la Nación Argentina por dos períodos consecutivos (2007-2015). Actualmente es senadora nacional con mandato 2017-2023, cargo que ya había desempeñado de 1995 a 1997 y de 2001 a 2005. Antes había sido diputada de la provincia de Santa Cruz (1989-1995), Convencional Constituyente (1994) y diputada de la Nación (1997-2001).
Realizó sus estudios de abogacía en la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, donde conoció a Néstor Kirchner en 1974, quien fue su esposo desde 1975 hasta el día de su muerte, el 27 de octubre de 2010. El matrimonio tuvo dos hijos: Máximo (1977) y Florencia (1990).
