Dennis Remmer lives in Brisbane, Queensland: the capital city of Australia’s own ’north’; a city renowned for its independent music scene. A lifelong devotee of New Order, Dennis has been applying their influence on a lifetime’s exploration of indie, electronic, and alternative music. During the early ’90s, Dennis produced the very first online discographies for New Order and Factory Records; expanding and evolving them over the next 20 years to become definitive web references endorsed by both band and label. Dennis was later invited by band management to prepare the discography for the official Joy Division website. In 1994 Dennis and his partner Anna set up Transmission Communications (Trans: Com), the first record label in the city dedicated to supporting locally produced electronic music. In 2014 Dennis authored ’BNE - The Definitive Archive’, which documents Brisbane’s 35-year history of electronic music production.
