內容簡介

Leaders often say they need more accountability in their organizations. The challenge is how to develop accountability at scale while simultaneously addressing the many needs of your workforce - especially in a VUCA world of rollercoaster markets, talent wars, and new norms about where and how people work.

In The Accountability Paradox, workplace culture expert Cheryl Fields Tyler demonstrates that cultivating Deep Trust and High Expectations is the key to sustainably unleash potential, agility, and business results -- in a way that is intrinsically motivating and deeply fulfilling for its people.

In this must-read book for any CEO, senior leader, people manager, or aspiring leader striving to build, strengthen and sustain a high-performing organization, you will learn:

  • What we mean by the Deep Trust and High Expectations(TM) approach and why it’s so important to have both "deep trust" and "high expectations" working together
  • What it takes to build a Deep Trust and High Expectations culture, including how to:

  1. Ensure you have a truly unifying purpose and actionable values for your organization
  2. Assess your current culture and define what you need to change
  3. Ensure your desired culture aims are woven throughout the employee experience
  4. Equip leaders and managers to build an inclusive culture that unleashes the potential of your business and your people

Filled with practical recommendations and "show-me-how" examples, The Accountability Paradox reveals how to build a Deep Trust and High Expectations culture that will foster authentic accountability and intrinsic motivation at every level of the organization, simultaneously strengthening employee engagement and business performance.

作者簡介

Cheryl Fields Tyler is founder and CEO of Blue Beyond Consulting, a management consulting firm that builds effective organizations where both the business and the people thrive. In addition to leading the organization, her daily work with clients includes everything from one-to-one executive coaching to the strategic design and implementation of large-scale business transformation efforts. A member of the Forbes Business Council, she has been honored as a For All Leader by the Great Place to Work(R) Institute, frequently writes for Forbes and has been featured in a variety of publications, including the BBC, CNBC, Fast Company, and Investor’s Business Daily.

After 20 years in various consulting roles and researching what makes leaders and organizations effective, Fields Tyler yearned to see if she could build the kind of business she was advising others to create. She founded Blue Beyond Consulting in 2006 with a firm belief that Deep Trust and High Expectations(TM) cultures - where people feel safe, valued, seen and heard, and can learn and grow - are good for business and good for people. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Blue Beyond today has 90+ employees working remotely across the United States.

Fields Tyler and Blue Beyond have worked with companies in a wide variety of industries in both the private, higher education, and non-profit sectors, including Walmart, Kaiser Permanente, Hasbro, University of San Francisco, Ingredion, and Emerson. In partnership with Great Place to Work(R), FORTUNE has recognized Fields Tyler’s company multiple times as one of the top 50 Best Small & Medium Workplaces in the U.S. Additionally, Blue Beyond has been certified as a Great Place to Work(R) annually since 2015 and named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies three years in a row (in 2022, 2021, and 2020). The company is also a certified women-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Sue Miller Wiltz is an award-winning journalist and author who has worked as a writer, editor, content director, and editorial and marketing consultant for organizations including Newsweek, People Weekly, the Harvard Education Letter, Angie’s List and CAST Professional Publishing. Miller Wiltz is passionate about writing, business, and learning, and Blue Beyond provides the opportunity to combine all three of these interests. When she’s not working, Miller Wiltz is busy raising two wonderfully different humans and hoping to instill in them many of the essential concepts and values contained in this book. Graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Columbia University with a BA and MS (respectively) in journalism, Sue also has an MBA in leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation from Butler University, and in 2021 joined Blue Beyond to partner with Cheryl on expanding her thought leadership.
