What defines worth? The dictionary defines it as a value that’s been assigned to a certain item. But most often worth seems to be determined by what our culture deems significant or important according to an ever-changing system of measurement.

To truly know our worth, we must first understand that Jesus is the only one who can make us worthy. Nothing we can do on our own will ever measure up. We don’t have to earn Jesus’s love to know that He loves us. In fact, because He is the one who has made us worthy, we can live boldly as an example of what true worth looks like. We can quit our striving and working and rest in the One who made us and sees us.

In this five-session Bible study, Mary Margaret West teaches teen girls what it means to be made worthy of Christ as she examines the lives of people in the Bible whom God called worthy because of their faith.

Mary Margaret West is passionate about equipping women and girls to dive deeply into God’s Word and live out their calling. She does this through consulting, speaking at events and conferences, and serving as a Lifeway Women Trainer. Mary Margaret loves serving her local church, brunch with friends, and freelance writing. She and her husband Jonathan live in Winter Garden, Florida with their son, Sam.

Mary Margaret has been leading in women’s and girls’ ministry for the last 18 years and is the author of Show Her the Way: Your Guide to Discipling Teen Girls. She is a contributor to the Lifeway Women and Lifeway Girls blogs, the Lifeway Women’s Bible, and author of the Lifeway Student Devotionals Agape and Cherished.

Mary Margaret holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She has served on staff at churches in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida, and as an Event Coordinator and Girls Ministry Specialist at Lifeway.
