The Tales from England

The New York Book Festival 2011 Honorable Mention Award Winner "The Tales From England" is a collection of short stories set in England during different periods of time. The stories which are about the Tudor Dynasty, a young explorer, a magician, a princess, a maid and separated twins stretch the meaning of reality by combining the mundane and extraordinary themes in a simple yet effective language.

Sena Öztosun was born in Turkey on 25th May 1995. She was the member of Çukurova Government Symphony Orchestra as a soprano. She took piano and ballet lessons. and composed her first musical Composition named ＂The Secret Garden＂ in 2006. She always loved writing and believed in the power of education. In 2008 Sena was accepted into Robert College of Istanbul, but she preferred to attend Tarsus American College with scholarship. At Tarsus American College she was the member of International Theater Schools Association and joined ISTA Theater festival in Zurich. She was interested in acting and arts. She won national painting competition and as a reward she was invited to Space Camp with full scholarship. She read audio books to blind people and joined ECIS Community Service Conference in Lisbon in 2009. She wrote an article about Turkey on Faces International Magazine. She won National Novel Writing Month and as a result she had a right to publish her book. She won the bronze award of Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. In the end of her 2009-2010 academic year, she had the highest GPA in her class. She later got accepted to Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, England with academic and music scholarship. She graduated from Columbia University in May 2017. Her first novel ＂The Pursuit of Success＂ was published on 31st March 2010. In 2011 she published her second book The Tales From England, which won the Honorable Mention Award in New York Book Festival in June 2011.
