Surviving the devastating rise of teen pregnancy, gang violence, and high school dropouts during the early 90’s was no easy task. But La Cherie refused to be a statistic. Yet, that does not mean she did not find herself distracted by boys. Sex was like her drug, she used it to numb her pain. But, the pain inside was too deep for sex to cure. Her promiscuous lifestyle began tarnishing her reputation and good name. Getting free was a process, because the pain refused to let her go. So, she buried it, until wrong luv managed to intrude on forbidden territory. But the memories of her ex-loves gave no room.La Cherie attended Cal State University Long Beach, where she studied Theatre Arts during the 90’s. Great casts, phenomenal plays, and awesome directors landed her a write up in the wave newspaper. Her talent was being recognized, but came to a screeching halt when she became pregnant, at age twenty-five. La Cherie believes her daughter helped save her life; she became the turning point of ending her promiscuity. La Cherie is grateful that her daughter Ashley Howard, chose to marry at age 22, and her husband Nicholas Howard, honorably asked her to be his wife, at age 22.La Cherie went back to church at Truechurch Ministries and put her talents to use. She was appointed as the Youth leader, Sunday school teacher, arts program coordinator, dance choreographer, and more. La Cherie has also been employed with the state of California for over 22 years. Her inner discernment of time led her to see that the business world is changing as technology is advancing.La Cherie returned to college and received her BS degree in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. La Cherie believes knowledge is power, and education is a privilege. La Cherie is just getting started and the next segment of her life experience includes helping teens and young adults, understand the value of the body. La Cherie is ready to devote her time to the growing rise in sexual promiscuity, STD’S and ST I’s destroying young lives.
