Maurice G. Bellanger received the doctorate degree from the University of Paris in 1981. He joined T.R.T. (Philips Communications in France), Paris, in 1967 and, since then, he has worked on digital signal processing and applications in telecommunications for a range of companies and in academia. In 1991, he joined the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), Paris, a public education and research institute, where he was a professor of electronics and head of the Electronics and Communications research team. Dr. Bellanger has published 100 papers, has been granted 22 patents, and is the author of two textbooks. He was elected a fellow of the IEEE for contributions to the theory of digital filtering and applications to communication systems.
