Her specialties include literacy and writing skills, especially with students who struggle with conceptual understanding of reading strategies. She has been trained in research-based, systematic reading programs. Her formal education includes a master of education in literacy from the University of San Diego, a language arts teaching credential from Indiana Wesleyan University, literacy training at the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, and a bachelor s degree in English and government from Skidmore College. She is currently pursuing a doctorate of education at Texas A&M University.
